PL Difficult Negotiations with Difficult Dictators

    • Governor Bill Richardson
Governor Bill Richardson will be presented the D’Alemberte-Raven Award for his outstanding service in dispute resolution. As a former governor of New Mexico, former US Ambassador to the United Nations and former Secretary of Energy, Richardson has negotiated with some of the world’s most infamous dictators. In his recently published book How to Sweet-Talk a Shark- Strategies and Stories from a Master Negotiator, Richardson provides a rare glimpse into an insider’s world of high-stakes negotiation. Richardson will use the stories from his book to provide lessons in the art of negotiation. He will reveal strategies that he has mastered through at-the-table experience from understanding the nature of power in a standoff to how to give up only what is necessary while getting what you want.
